Plusbac Equine (formerly Manna) is a natural, highly effective microbial feed supplement for horses, produced with probiotic bacteria/microorganisms, designed specifically for the benefit of horses.
It is important to understand that as Plusbac Equine is a liquid, with probiotic bacteria, it is likely to be more effective than any powdered or other dry probiotic as the bacteria co-habit and thrive within their wet commensal suspension.
Plusbac Equine can be added to feed or water. (We recommend adding once a day to feed) Plusbac Equine can improve digestion by increasing beneficial microorganisms in the saliva and gut, as pathogenic bacteria are suppressed. It is possible the occupation of such probiotic bacteria in turn improves the immune system and therefore helps maintain wellbeing, general health and condition.Benefits
- Ensures normal digestive function (more beneficial microorganisms in the gut).
- Maintains healthy appetite and weight by balancing nutrient production and absorption.
- Optimises wellbeing, general condition and temperament.
- Helps to reduce stress and therefore maintain correctly functioning gastro intestinal system.
- A totally natural way to help maintain an optimum immune system.
- Aids metabolism, improving nutrient production and absorption.

Ingredients include elements of the following herbs:
Caraway - used as a remedy for colic, loss of appetite and digestive disorders.
Yarrow - used for stemming the flow of blood in wounds
Aniseed and fennel -Contain anethole, a phytoestrogen, sometimes called "dietary estrogens", a diverse group of naturally occurring non-steroidal plant compounds that, because of their structural similarity with estradiol, have the ability to cause estrogenic effects.
Birch Leaves - many medicinal uses including diuretic.
Goldenrod - Known for aiding kidney and bladder problems.
Rosemary - contains anti-oxidents.
Peppermint - relieving intestine digestion and colic condition.
Marshmallow root - helpful in almost all problems related to inflammation of the digestive tract; including peptic ulcers, hiatus hernias, mouth ulcers, enteritis and colitis. It is also an anti-inflammatory.
Raspberry leaves - soothes diarrhea or intestinal inflammation.
Manna Equine includes the following bacterias:
Lactobacillus plantarumis is found in plant material and the gastrointestinal tract of animals where it is used in the fermentation of foods. It promotes digestive health by attaching itself to the mucal wall in the gut where it preserves critical nutrients, vitamins, and antioxidants and competes against pathogens which would otherwise cause the animal harm. It has also shown the rare ability to produce L. lysine, an essential amino acid, used by the horse as a building block to efficient growth, muscle development and tissue repair.
Lactobacillus Casei is considered beneficial because it produces lactic acid. This helps lower pH levels in the digestive system and impedes the growth of harmful bacteria. The primary source of these helpful bacteria is the fermentation of raw plant materials such as Raspberry, Caraway and Marshmallow Root which are included specifically in Manna Equine to produce the right strains of bacteria which are best suited to control inflammation of the gut and to improve and promote digestion.
Rhodopseudomonas palustris is a group of beneficial bacteria, which is key to promoting a healthy gut microflora. Its ability to break down toxic substances in both anaerobic and aerobic conditions plus its tolerance to the low pH and high bile salt found in the gut means that it’s quite at home in the intestine where it brings its antioxidant activity to bear quickly, gently and effectively.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a simple yeast that helps stabilize the pH levels in the horses digestive system thus helping to avoid high levels of pH concentration, especially in the hind gut, which can be distressing. It unlikely that a perfectly healthy horse which is not fed a high starch diet will see much immediate benefit from saccharomyces cerevisiae, but even small changes in diet, such a hay from one side of a field or another, or the stress the horse experiences during travel for instance, can result in digestive upsets. Saccharomyces cerevisiae helps to smooth the risk of digestive and metabolic upsets thus helping with the continuity of wellbeing that is desired.
